James Bowen found Bob the cat 2007. The street musician was living in support housing when he came across the injured orange tabby, and nursed him back to health with antibiotics and assistance from the RSPCA. Once he recovered, James thought he would never see the stray cat again, but much to his surprise the sociable feline began following him around, and the two quickly became inseparable. Just as James had once saved Bob's life, the loyal ginger kitty was now doing his part to return the favor.
James says that Bob loves being adored and performing for the public, and truly thinks "he's one of the boys." In fact, the cat has become such a fixture at the Angel Tube station that the London Underground have issued him his own photo ID card, which James thinks makes him especially unique: "I don't see dogs with their own photo cards, do you?"
The extraordinary pair now have a book coming out on March 15th called "A Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets" that tells the story of their touching journey.
